Advanced Analyst Global Trade

 

Location: Katowice - 2 days in office / 3 days remote

Indirect Tax has 9 sub-functions which manage Global accounts. Indirect Tax is spread across 8 GDS Locations. Our footprint extends to over 30+ countries in the world and looking at expanding it to over 50+ countries soon. We help country practices streamline and manage large engagements for several clients. The opportunity

 

EY established a Global Trade team to help clients manage export and import classifications, assist with Free Trade Agreements (FTA) solicitation and qualification analysis, identify other government agencies (OGA) requirements, and review client transactions.  The Global Trade team consists of a dedicated team of trained individuals responsible for analysing the technical characteristics of products and assigning proper export and import classifications, conducting analysis if products qualify for FTAs, identifying OGA requirements and screening clients transactions against different lists of sanctioned parties. 

 

Our team is dedicated to providing excellent client service and accurate classifications with fast turnaround time. Global Trade Seniors are responsible for assigning classifications to staff members and reviewing all classifications for accuracy.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Drive classification process and review analysts deliverables
  • Provides technical assistance to team members performing classifications
  • Tracks deadlines and due dates for all requested classifications and works closely with Manager and team members to prioritize and meet time frames
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the clients industry, classification needs and deadlines works with team to meet deadlines with quality deliverables
  • Provide in-depth analysis of controversial cases
  • Builds strong relationship with all team members mentoring Staff and working closely with the Manager
  • Develops relationship with client and responds to client questions directly as appropriate
  • Provides regular informal feedback to team members, including constructive feedback as well as recognizing outstanding work
  • Develop, mentor and supervise Analysts and Advanced Analysts

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong written/ verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to analyse regulations and procedures and relate them to operations;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience managing a team;
  • Fluency in English is required;

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Bachelors Degree or undergraduate degree in international trade
  • Experienced working in a Global Trade industry
  • Experienced in determining tariff classifications in accordance with the Harmonized Tariff System.
  • Export Control classification knowledge is a plus

 

Ideally, youll also have

 

Relevant experience working in biotechnology, medical technology and/or pharmaceutical industries (in capacities where understanding the technical aspects of the products is essential, commodity expertise exists).
