Full Job Description
A well-established quantitative trading firm is hiring a Java Software Engineer to join the team responsible for their proprietary trading and execution platform. The firm operates across algorithmic execution and systematic investing, serving institutional clients globally. This is a hands-on engineering role at the heart of a live, high-stakes trading system, with real ownership from day one. This position is onsite, in their London office.
What youll do:
- Own and deliver the roadmap for the firms core trading and execution platform
- Work directly with execution brokers to improve algorithmic performance, incorporating research feedback and coordinating A/B testing
- Onboard new execution brokers and implement approved execution enhancements
- Build, maintain, and improve Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reporting
- Contribute to the architectural evolution of the platform alongside a senior engineering team
- Participate in the production support rota
Youll need:
- 4+ years of software development experience, with strong Java skills
- Prior experience in execution systems at a bank, hedge fund, or financial services firm
- Exposure to equities trading or related markets
- Degree in a STEM discipline
