About the Role:

Executive Director - Head of Energy Markets Research & Analysis, you will be a member of the research leadership team responsible for developing and stewarding olefin chemicals market research and analysis. You will report to the Vice President of Research.

Dow Jones Energy delivers trusted price transparency, benchmarks, analytics, news, and insights across the global energy, chemicals, metals, and fuel supply value chains. Our offerings support institutional investors, analysts, and traders navigating spot, wholesale, and retail markets, as well as emerging segments tied to the global energy transition.

Through authoritative data, real-time intelligence, and deep market expertise, Dow Jones Energy enables financial professionals to mitigate risk and make high-stakes commercial decisions in volatile, fast-evolving global markets.

You Will:

  • Lead the development of new research products focused on the global coverage of energy markets, such as crude oil, natural gas, NGLs and refined products

  • Direct primary research and create analysis in support of new service launches; including research & analysis related to upstream production trends and refining landscape evolution

  • Acts as a liaison between Dow Jones Energy & external suppliers

  • Oversee the energy price forecasting process and communicate key forecast messages internally and externally

  • Establish and maintain a reputation for of energy market expertise (oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and fuel product) by overseeing and deploying subject matter experts to industry events, media opportunities, client engagements and internal functions

  • Build and maintain industry contact relationships across producers, consumers, traders, and the financial community

  • Ensure that the team follows Dow Jones Energy price discovery standards

  • Collaborate with sales personnel to identify new business opportunities for sales and consulting engagements

  • Coordinate energy & feedstock market content for consulting projects and client development

  • Advise content leaders on research topics and ideas to improve existing weekly and monthly reports and strategic analyses

  • Develop market presentations and pursue opportunities to present information in client meetings and conferences

  • Actively market the energy & feedstock services

  • Contribute to Dow Jones Energy team dynamics to ensure consistent global coverage and analysis

  • Serve as a key stakeholder for marquee value chain events

You Have:

  • 15+ years upstream, downstream, and/or midstream industry experience, including market intelligence and/or strategic planning (prior experience creating and launching new products is a plus)

  • Experience in managing 10+ direct reports & mentoring skip-level reports which includes highly experienced multi-disciplinary, market experts

  • The ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions

  • Experience managing ambiguity with minimal direction

  • Strong MS Office suite, PowerBI, Spotfire and/or Tableau experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel manipulation including VBA scripting (Python knowledge a plus)

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

  • Chemical engineering, chemistry, business or, economics degree -OR- equivalent work experience (post-graduate academic work in a technical field such as PhD or masters in data science chemical or petroleum engineering will be considered in lieu of experience)

Base Pay Range: $200,000 - $245,000
