As the Director of Strategic Alliances, you will serve as the chief commercial architect for our global exchange, clearinghouse, and channel partner ecosystem. Reporting directly to the VP Commercial Strategy, you will be responsible for expanding the market footprint and monetization of our proprietary physical price assessments, research, news and data suites. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role operating at the intersection of physical commodity markets and financial derivative ecosystems.

You Will:

  • Create Territory Plans: Design regional channel strategies that align directly with broader Dow Jones Energy territory goals.

  • Launch Go-to-Market Plans: Build and execute tailored distribution blueprints to maximize sales of DJE services through partners.

  • Expand the Network: Identify, prospect, and onboard new referral and distribution partners to scale market reach.

  • Serve as Main Contact: Act as the primary relationship owner and the first point of contact for all partner escalations and sales conflicts.

  • Equip Partner Teams: Deliver product training, education curricula, and marketing assets to ensure partner sales teams can sell effectively.

  • Drive Incremental Sales: Align internal and external sales resources to uncover, register, and close net-new revenue opportunities.

  • Track Pipelines: Maintain precise partner records and register all co-selling leads accurately within the CRM system.

  • Negotiate Exchange Listing Agreements: Lead complex commercial and outbound licensing negotiations with commodity exchanges to list new derivative contracts settled against the PRAs proprietary physical price assessments.

  • Manage Volume-Based Royalty Models: Structure, audit, and track "per-trade" or volume-based royalty structures from clearinghouses and exchanges utilizing the agency's benchmarks.

  • Feedback Exchange Microstructure: Collect and deliver market intelligence from exchange trading desks regarding clearing liquidity, block-trade dynamics, and contract specifications to internal Product and Market Reporting teams.

You Have:

  • Demonstrable experience of senior business development, alliance management, or institutional sales experience

  • Sector Background: Proven track record working directly inside a PRA, a major commodity exchange (like CME, ICE, LSEG), an energy broker, or a top-tier market data vendor (like Bloomberg or Refinitiv)

  • Deal-Making Portfolio: A documented history of originating, negotiating, and closing complex, multi-year data licensing or data redistribution agreements

  • Commodity Market Structure: Deep literacy in how physical energy markets operate, including how over-the-counter (OTC) clearings, physical spot prices, and derivative futures contracts interconnect.

  • Market Data Systems: Familiarity with third-party entitlement systems, real-time data ingestion models, and terminal platforms.

  • Contractual Aptitude: Heavy experience authoring and revising complex legal terms, liability frameworks, and volume-based royalty clauses.

  • C-Suite Presence: The ability to command respect and confidently negotiate with exchange leadership, clearinghouse executives, and regulators.

  • Matrix Management: Skill in aligning internal legal, product, compliance, and editorial stakeholders who may have conflicting priorities regarding data exposure.
