Full Job Description
As an Audience Analyst, Subscriptions Audience at Dow Jones, you will play a pivotal role in understanding audience behavior, preferences, and trends with a focus on growing subscriptions through quality reach and scale across our consumer brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barrons, and MarketWatch. You will develop data-driven insights to inform content promotion, audience targeting, and engagement efforts within the Audience team in the greater Dow Jones consumer subscription organization.
Key Responsibilities
Experimentation Strategy & Measurement: Partner with Product and Engineering to define data requirements, establish success metrics, and monitor experiment performance to optimize testing outcomes.
AI-Driven Analysis: Incorporate AI and automation tools to streamline test result analysis, manage projects, and measure overall business impact.
Database Optimization: Define and document query optimization best practices to ensure a smooth, standardized migration from BigQuery to Snowflake.
Funnel & Performance Reporting: Analyze customer acquisition funnels to resolve friction points, gather reporting requirements, and build tracking dashboards in Tableau.
Audience Segmentation & Retention: Analyze complex behavioral and demographic data to segment audiences, partnering with Newsroom and Subscription teams to design and track targeted growth campaigns.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of professional experience in a subscription, marketing, or data-related role.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field (Business Analytics, Data Science, Social Sciences), or equivalent experience.
Understanding of the fundamentals of SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau.
Understanding of testing platforms such as Piano Composer and StatSig
Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets.
Ability to deliver clear recommendations from data.
Ability to summarize and present findings to non-technical stakeholders in clear and understandable manner.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Passion for news and subscriptions, along with a curiosity about audience behavior

Union role
Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000
