Overview

The Assistant Vice President of US Government & Public Affairs at Deutsche Bank is a role within the global Government & Public Affairs (G&PA) team, reporting to the Head U.S. Government Affairs. As an AVP, you will work to enhance Deutsche Bank’s presence and influence in the Washington, DC and the broader US, through monitoring and tracking legislative and regulatory policy debates and proposals with the goal of supporting regulatory adherence. You will help arrange briefings delivered across the team, and will work with the team to develop DB positions and responses to selected public consultations on key policy issues. You will participate as part of the team in consistent policymaker and regulator interactions, and will help provide input to trade associations. In this role, you will be helping to communicate key policy developments within Deutsche Bank and support the education of internal stakeholders as to implications.

What You’ll Do

  • Providing information / analysis to identify and raise awareness of new and changing laws & regulations covering new or amended rules and regulations issued by Congress and the Bank’s regulators and other relevant policy making bodies

  • Acting as Deutsche Bank’s center of expertise on important national, regional, and international legislative and regulatory proposals and policy developments Providing analysis and intelligence for key clients on relevant issues.

  • Support the drafting of position papers, internal and external presentations, to advance understanding of issues

  • Connect legislative, regulatory, and government relationship matters to key business issues

  • Providing support to the work within the team to assess of impacts of regulatory changes

  • Providing input to the development of Deutsche Bank’s advocacy strategy on key issues to relevant official sector bodies

Skills You’ll Need

  • Detailed understanding of the US financial markets and its regulatory structure

  • Prior experience working as congressional staff, ideally within the Democratic Party, strongly preferred

  • The ability to managing multiple projects in parallel and prioritizing time to ensure tight deadlines are met

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree preferred
