Overview
The Assistant Vice President of Geopolitical Affairs – US Policy at Deutsche Bank is a key role within the Global Government & Public Affairs (G&PA) team. This position focuses on monitoring and assessing US policy developments relevant to the Bank. This position reports to Erik Soderberg, U.S. Head of Government & Public Affairs and Global Head of Geopolitical Affairs.

What You’ll Do
Monitoring and analyzing geopolitical developments and U.S. policy issues that impact Deutsche Bank’s business and its clients, collaborating with internal subject matter experts to assess potential implications
Preparing regular and ad hoc briefings for senior management on geopolitical events and policy topics—both global and U.S.—to ensure timely awareness across the organization
Coordinating with internal experts to produce in-depth analyses, geopolitical risk assessments, heatmaps, and presentations for internal and external audiences
Supporting and conducting stakeholder engagement, including preparation and follow-up for meetings, and representing the Bank at industry events and conferences
Building and maintaining a strong network of internal and external contacts, including topic experts, industry associations, and policymakers
Skills You’ll Need
Experience: Moderate experience in the financial sector or public affairs, with a strong preference for experience related to geopolitics
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant work experience in financial services, politics, or law
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Expertise and Interests: Strong interest in global financial services and geopolitics, with an affinity for regulation and political developments
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; fluent in English. Additional language skills are considered an asset. Soft skills example: excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
background example, i.e. certifications
Senior Interaction: Proven ability to interact confidently and effectively with senior management
Analytical Skills: Capacity to quickly digest large volumes of information and identify key insights
Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
