Your Key Responsibilities
As an ESG Analyst you will be a part of the ESG Engine team with hub in Frankfurt. DWS has implemented more than hundred rules (screens) to steer investments in sustainable portfolio, for both on the retail side as well as for institutional clients, globally and across multiple jurisdictions. Those screens define which assets are eligible for portfolio managers to purchase. The role is to collect specifications on new screens from the product division, design and build the screens in the ESG engine, test, document, and quality assure them. In a wider sense, the role may include analysis of ESG factors which are to be used to meet clients ESG preferences.
The responsibilities will include:
- Collect specifications on screens from the product divisions and ensure in discourse that they are sound and can be implemented.
- Design and code the screens in a technical ESG Engine specific/bespoke business rule language
- Test and document the screens.
- Obtain approval from the product division.
- Ensure operational excellence of the screens in production and identify, communicate, and remediate and challenge.
Your Skills and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Academic background in IT/Engineering or similar with an affinity to coding
- Ability to perform business rule programming and testing
- Ability for shared development; working with code repositories and change management procedures
- Good Communication skills
- Strong understanding of the asset management business
- Advanced proficiency in MS-Office
- Ability to work with large data sets; familiarity with automation tools would be beneficial
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
