We are seeking a motivated construction lawyer with proven PQE to join our growing Construction team as part of our wider Real Estate practice. This is a mid-level hire in which the successful candidate will work closely alongside senior members of the team, taking responsibility for their own matters and contributing to the development of junior colleagues.
The primary focus of the role is non-contentious construction work, though candidates with some contentious experiences are welcome to apply.
This is an opportunity for someone with the right mix of attitude, vision, experience, skills and drive to work with Deloitte Legal. We particularly look for traits such as curiosity, energy and drive and being great team player.
The successful candidate will be:
- Advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, procurement advice, and project advisory work.
- Working across a variety of projects and asset classes, including mixed use, residential, commercial, build-to-rent, hotels, student accommodation, and industrial developments, as well as corporate occupier acquisitions and disposals and property finance transactions across the UK.
- Managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision, with increasing autonomy as your experience grows.
- Providing commercially focused, pragmatic advice to clients, with a strong emphasis on quality and client care.
- Supporting business development activity, including participation in pitches, marketing events, and the preparation of thought leadership content.
- Contributing to the day-to-day running of the team, including precedent management, know-how, and training of more junior colleagues.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across the wider Deloitte business.

Experience & Technical Skills
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with proven PQE in construction law, with a primary focus on non-contentious work.
- Solid grounding in standard form construction contracts, including JCT and NEC; exposure to FIDIC is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience advising developers, funders, occupiers, or contractors across a range of project types and asset classes.
- A strong academic background or equivalent professional experience.

- Excellent drafting skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Clear and effective communicator, both in writing and in person, with the ability to distil complex legal issues into practical, accessible advice.

- A commercial mindset and a genuine desire to understand your clients' businesses and objectives.
- A team player who is keen to contribute positively to the culture of the group, including by attending the office two days a week as a minimum.
