The D. E. Shaw group seeks a proactive, analytical individual to help build its Hedge Fund Portfolio Strategy function, which develops portfolio and markets-related insights into investor-facing content to support fundraising and capital retention. This function is part of the Thought Leadership team within Communications, and works closely with Investor Relations and investment teams across the firm.
What youll do day-to-day
Contribute to the building of a new function with a mandate to support the raising and retention of capital.
Partner with the Communications, Investor Relations (IR), and research and investment teams to source strategy- and portfolio-level insights, including monthly performance and market color.
Develop and update hedge fund strategy summaries, educational materials, and other evergreen content for IR reference.
Manage the drafting and review process for longer-form content, including white papers, market deep dives, conference presentations, and speaking materials.
Field and produce bespoke content requests.
Help develop infrastructure to support the function as it scales.
Who were looking for
- A bachelors degree or higher; at least two to five years of relevant experience.
- Proven research, editing, and project management skills, with sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Experience generating alternative investment content, gained through roles in financial markets, investor relations, investment research, or product specialist functions.
- Impressive written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, accurate, client-ready content.
- Comfort working directly with senior stakeholders, with the ability to build a solid internal network quickly.
- An ability to use a range of technologies to scale and improve existing processes.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $185,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
