About us central part in supporting the business

We are looking for a Risk Officer who will contribute to delivering a robust testing & control framework within operational risk areas in Danske Bank. It is a valuable opportunity to become a part of a dynamic team and support the further development of the Controls Office unit.

The Business Controls and Product Management (BCPM) department serves as a central component in supporting the Business in reaching its strategic goals with reporting lines to the leaders [TL2.1] of the three business units: Large Corporates & Institutions, Business Customers, and Personal Customers

Controls Office is a specialised 1st Line of Defence control operating & testing unit within BCPM, with the aim to ensure that controls are designed and operated effectively.

The workplace can be in Vilnius, Lithuania or Warsaw, Poland. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3 4 days in the office).

What you will be doing

You will join team members located globally, in Denmark, Lithuania, Sweden, Norway and Poland. Your focus will be on operational and data risk areas, ensuring effective control management within the 1st Line of Defence. Among your key responsibilities, you can expect:

  • Analysing and interpreting test or control results, to highlight areas of effective practices and needed improvements across business areas to increase both design and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop, and implement comprehensive control operation to mitigate operational and data risks incl. test scripts for key controls, test frequency, etc. 
  • Identify opportunities for control operation automation for key controls and work in partnership with the teams in the Controls Office. 
  • Support escalation of results and monitoring for Senior Management and Governing Risk Committees.  

About you

You are an experienced finance risk professional, or perhaps you have been working with governance, regulatory or compliance processes in the banking industry. You have knowledge of financial products, processes or other relevant experience and know how to combine risk management principles with the needs of the business. Furthermore, you bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in non-financial risk management, particularly in operational risks and/or control operational roles, with an understanding of risk and control management practices
  • Ability to identify underlying risk drivers and trends, coupled with process and control improvement opportunities
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Higher education and knowledge of any Nordic language are considered as beneficial

If you are hired in Lithuania, the monthly salary range: from 2240 EUR to 3360 EUR gross (based on competencies relevant to the role).
