Would you like to play a key role in maintaining effective 1st Line of Defence (LoD) controls management within Danske Bank? Are you motivated by working in a regulatory environment where analytical thinking, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement are important to success?

We are looking for a Risk & Controls Officer to join the Controls Office within Business Controls and Product Management (BCPM). This role offers an opportunity to develop your risk and controls expertise while working with a wide range of regulatory and operational risk topics. You will support the execution, monitoring and enhancement of controls and contribute to improving the overall control environment through data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and structured problem-solving.
About us a central part of supporting the business
The Business Controls and Product Management (BCPM) department plays a central role in supporting the business units in achieving their strategic objectives.

The Controls Office is home to the 1st LoD control operation and control testing activities within BCPM. As part of the Regulatory Risk Testing & Assurance team, you will work closely with colleagues across BCPM as well as a broad set of stakeholders in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defence. We focus on strengthening the control environment by ensuring consistency, transparency, and high quality in how regulatory compliance risks are managed through controls. The team supports a range of regulatory frameworks and obligations, including MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, EMIR and SFTR, providing exposure to some of the most important regulatory requirements impacting global financial markets.

The position could be located in Warsaw, Poland or Vilnius, Lithuania. The role does not include a relocation allowance.

You will:
    Support the execution, monitoring and reporting of risk and control activities, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of control outcomes
    Perform analysis of control results and data to identify anomalies, trends, issues and improvement opportunities
    Assist in investigating control findings, performing root-cause analysis and supporting remediation activities
    Maintain and enhance control documentation, procedures, and governance materials
    Work closely with stakeholders across business, risk and compliance functions to clarify requirements and support implementation of control improvements
    Support the assessment of regulatory requirements and help ensure controls operate in line with relevant policies, procedures and regulations
    Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving controls, processes, data quality and ways of working
    Escalate material issues and risks through appropriate governance channels and support management reporting


About you:
    Have 13 years of professional experience, preferably within risk management, controls, compliance, audit or financial services
    Have a basic understanding of non-financial risk management and control frameworks or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area
    Knowledge of financial regulations and regulatory frameworks such as MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR or Dodd-Frank is an advantage
    Are comfortable working with data and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Can structure tasks, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines
    Have strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation and reporting
    Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and can adapt your communication to different stakeholder groups
    Enjoy collaborating with colleagues and building relationships across functions and levels of seniority
    Are fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge of a Nordic language or Polish is considered an advantage
    Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management or a related field

If based in Lithuania, your monthly salary would range from 2240 EUR to 3360 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
