Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

We are the Wealth Planning and Investments Tribe. We aim to make it easy for customers to invest, and to support advisers with trusted investment advice through simple, high-quality solutions.

We own critical systems on various technology stacks and platforms such as Mainframe z/OS, .NET, OpenShift and Azure DevOps.

You will join an organised squad working in an agile environment. As a mainframe specialist, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional squad consisting of software engineers, business analysts and UX/CX designers, working closely together with key stakeholders to transform business requirements into working solutions. Beyond your squad, you will be part of the Wealth Planning and Investments mainframe chapter, where you will contribute to our coding standards, best practices and procedures.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues based in Denmark, Lithuania and India.

Danske Bank has a modern toolbox that supports state-of-the-art mainframe development, as well as a dedicated team that ensures it is kept up to date with improvements to support our mainframe development environment.

You will:

  • Take ownership and serve as a technical expert in mainframe development, with practical experience in designing, coding and debugging complex applications
  • Lead and contribute to the design and architecture of software solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, performance and reusability

  • Lead and oversee mainframe modernisation initiatives, ensuring alignment with cloud strategies. Evaluate existing mainframe systems, identify opportunities for improvement and develop migration plans

  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback and mentor team members to improve their technical skills and coding practices

  • Develop and maintain applications

  • Apply and grow cross-platform skills, including understanding of REST APIs

  • Stay up to date with mainframe development trends and drive adoption of relevant improvements within the team

 

About you:

  • Hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, PL/I, OPC, CICS and MQ
  • Good knowledge of DB2, including indexes, tables and well-performing queries
  • Previous experience in the financial industry or other heavily regulated industries, as well as knowledge of or interest in investments, would be beneficial
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Advanced English skills
