Full Job Description
Location: Vilnius, Lithuania
Join our Risk and Compliance Tribe as an IT Chapter Lead where you will modernise data engineering capabilities while developing a skilled team. This dual role combines technical leadership with people management, giving you the opportunity to shape both our data solutions and the careers of experienced engineers. You will work on business-critical systems that support risk management across Danske Bank.
What you will be doing
As a playing coach, you will balance technical contribution with leadership responsibilities, working closely with Product Owners, architects, and risk specialists to deliver scalable data solutions. Your team of Data Engineers, primarily based in Vilnius, will rely on your guidance for both technical direction and professional development.
- Lead and manage a functional team of Data Engineers across all seniority levels
- Act as Tech Lead in delivery squads, contributing to solution design and implementation
- Guide technical decisions around ETL, data modelling, and platform architecture
- Mentor engineers in technical skills, delivery practices, and career development
- Lead the Data Engineering Guild to define standards and best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements
- Support continuous improvement of data flows, platforms, and engineering practices
About you
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Tech Lead with strong ETL expertise
- Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and PySpark for scalable data solutions
- Experience with modern data platforms, preferably Databricks or AWS
- Ability to lead technical direction while maintaining active involvement
- Experience with or motivation for line management including performance development
- Genuine interest in coaching and mentoring engineers at different career stages
- Strong communication skills in English for technical and business collaboration
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD practices, and automated testing would be valuable additions to your background.
We offer
Monthly salary range from 5200 EUR to 7800 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
