Job Overview

Overview

The SVP Trade Sales is a senior, revenue-generating role within Citi Commercial Banks Trade & Working Capital Sales team, supporting middle market companies across the United States and Canada. This individual will lead the execution of the teams sales strategy across priority client segments and industries, with a strong focus on originating and delivering complex Trade and Working Capital solutions.

The successful candidate will bring deep core trade expertiseparticularly in Documentary Trade (Letters of Credit and SBLCs)and a proven ability to structure and deliver solutions in sophisticated client environments. Experience supporting subsidiaries of foreign multinational companies (e.g., GNB clients) is highly desirable and considered a strong advantage for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business origination across Trade & Working Capital products

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to deepen client relationships

  • Serve as a trusted advisor delivering tailored trade solutions with emphasis on Letters of Credit

  • Lead coordination across product, operations, credit, and implementation teams

  • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure adherence to policies

  • Provide mentorship and contribute to strategic planning

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in Trade Sales or Product Management

  • Strong core trade background with deep expertise in Documentary Trade (Letters of Credit, SBLCs, Collections)

  • Proven track record in originating and executing complex trade transactions

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting subsidiaries of foreign multinational corporations (GNB clients)

  • Familiarity with cross-border trade structures

  • Experience in Trade Loans, Receivables Finance, Payables Finance, Export Agency Finance

Additional Requirements

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • High degree of professionalism and integrity

  • Ability to operate independently and within teams

  • Strong commitment to risk management and compliance
