Job Overview

Job Purpose:

The Asia Proposals team is part of the broader Regional Payment and Liquidity Sales Team, with the purpose of maximizing win rates through high quality multi-country/regional and global proposals written and produced on schedule.

Job Background/Context:

Produce highly customized written proposals and presentations in partnership with the sales teams as well as to keep the Proposals and RFP database updated.

The Proposal Writer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end process of creating, coordinating, and maintaining high-quality, customized Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) responses and Pitchbooks for clients. Ensure all responses are accurate, consistent with business objectives and strategic messaging, aligned with client needs, and submitted within stated deadlines.

  • Effectively convey information about products and services, managing multiple revisions, edit and re-edit proposal sections as needed, ensuring that proposals maintain a consistent tone and aesthetic applicable for executive level recipients.

  • Partner with Product teams to build and maintain a robust Proposals and RFP database, ensuring consistency and compliance with the bank's global and regional standards. Continuously update and improve content in the Proposals and RFP database. Champion 'best practices' for effective writing and incorporate the bank's positioning and marketing materials into the database.

  • Stay informed on customer needs and market trends through continuous interaction with sales and product teams.

  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.

  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firms reputation.

  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citis Code of Conduct.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience

  • Sales support and/or Proposal and RFP writing experience

  • Transaction Banking and Cash Management product knowledge; understand customer needs and product capabilities is preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Proven communications and project management skills

  • Able to meet deadlines and work both independently and in groups

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task 

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree is Good to Have.
