What youll do

  • Prepare and maintain standard precedent contracts.

  • Support preparation, review  of procedures and internal instructions providing for the legal framework of operations, preparing legal opinions on internal procedures prepared by other departments.

  • Set up the legal framework for new products.

  • Represent Citi in licensing, administrative and court proceedings.

  • Prepare documents and submissions relating to the corporate operations of Citi.

  • Assist in the operations of the relevant corporate bodies, preparing proposals and draft resolutions.

  • Prepare legal opinions (e.g. interpretation of legal rules, opining on draft legal rules, opining on existing contracts).

  • Legal handling of customer claims.

  • Negotiate and draft individual, non-standard contracts.

  • Represent Citi before courts and authorities, preparing submission and other documents, supporting preparation of concluding settlements.

  • Co-operate with other legal counsels of Citi and with external lawyers.

  • Help all the Departments in interpreting the legal requirement

What well need from you

  • Hungarian language proficiency

  • University degree, faculty of law (Hungarian law degree)

  • Hungarian Bar exam

  • At least 7 years experience most importantly in financial law, other areas of expertise which are a benefit: labour law, general civil law, data privacy

  • In-depth understanding of relevant laws.

  • Advanced level English (verbal and written), to be able to communicate one's legal opinion about an issue with the same depth as in Hungarian and with the same speed. Also being able to fluently communicate with local and/or regional seniors in English.

  • User level computer skills (MS Windows, Office, Excell, CD Jogtr/Cgtr)

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, ability to properly prioritize.

  • Integrity

  • Being a team player, and also being able to lead projects, do individual work.
