Job Overview

Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a critical component of Citis First Line of defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk (CCR) management. ICM works with Independent Risk teams to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, and client responsiveness. Key responsibilities of the group include credit analysis, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. ICM coordinates with credit management groups across Markets as well as Banking to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices.

Within ICM Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), ICM Funds Underwriting is a global team responsible for measuring, monitoring and controlling counterparty risk for Funds, covering Investment Advisors as Agent, and Pension Funds. We are seeking an experienced professional to perform credit analysis (preparing CAMs) for our Real Money Funds clients. Further, the role will also support the Funds Credit Analyst Team Lead on adhoc tasks and guide junior analysts. This is a First Line of Defense risk management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the credit and financial strength of Citis Real Money Funds Clients (for EMEA funds portfolio) by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties using both quantitative and qualitative factors

  • Complete Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings of Citis Funds Counterparties based on independent assessment and judgement completed on the due diligence of the client and industry knowledge to provide appropriate extensions of credit remaining within Risk appetite

  • Continuous monitoring of the covered portfolio, including following industry trends, impacts to key relationships, and escalation of potential credit issues to Underwriting Team Leads, 2LoD Risk Partners and Banking partners

  • Assist the team lead with ad hoc deliverables/tasks and proactively assume additional responsibilities to help manage workload.

  • Review and provide recommendation on the risk rating across the Funds sector

  • Partner with regional and industry stakeholders in Underwriting, 2LoD, and Banking in the implementation of credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstratable financial services experience, including 6-8 years of credit experience in Banking, Credit Risk Management or equivalent credit experience

  • Good knowledge of Wholesale Credit Processes and organizational awareness including ICM functions, covered portfolios/products, and processes

  • Sound understanding of policies, standards and procedures with the ability to execute change seamlessly

  • Solid and thorough knowledge of Citis systems (preferable)

  • Experience in preparing clear and concise presentations to senior stakeholders

Skills/Competencies:

Strategic orientation to ensure the ICM Underwriting organization continues to be positioned as a thoughtful and proactive partner on driving best practices to support safety and soundness within ICM and Citi

  • Experience and familiarity with Real Money Funds, and Pension Funds Industry products and relevant CCR risk measures

  • Demonstrate strong ownership and organizational skills with ability and willingness to work under stringent deadlines, manages time and priorities effectively

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority

  • Good Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills
