Team/Role Overview
Citis Investor Services business is seeking a highly experienced Custody Product Manager to lead and develop our Securities Services franchise across Switzerland and Austria. This role combines deep market expertise with modern digital product management capabilities, driving growth, client satisfaction, and innovation across our custody offering.
As a key member of the Product team, you will own the local product strategy, ensuring our services remain competitive, compliant, and increasingly data-driven, digitally enabled, and commercially impactful. You will work closely with clients, sales, operations, and technology partners to deliver best-in-class solutions and enhance the client experience through digital transformation and intelligent automation.
A deep understanding of local securities market regulations and conditions is essential. This expertise enables you to support, advance, and promote the local Securities Services franchise. Cultivating strong relationships with both clients and internal operational partners is key to guaranteeing the seamless execution of services and achieving the highest possible client satisfaction. You will also maintain close ties with local market infrastructures to understand, influence, and effectively implement market changes and new service rollouts.
This Role is a Controlled Function Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
What youll do
- Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships, monitoring satisfaction through active participation in service reviews to achieve top ratings in key client surveys.
- Oversee and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements, credit policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Contribute to the successful completion of client Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Develop/maintain industry knowledge relevant to the funds, insurance and banking industries in Switzerland and Austria, source relevant market information and keep clients informed on all market and service developments via meaningful Market and Service Watches
- Keep Market and Service Profiles up-to-date on all new developments and any market/service changes.
- Actively contribute to client retention strategies and the achievement of revenue, pipeline, and growth targets.
- Conduct pricing analysis and oversee the seamless onboarding and implementation process for new client relationships.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures and product frameworks, with a continuous focus on process improvement.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and build effective partnerships with Operations and other key business units.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple branches within a virtual team structure.
- Partner with Product Management peers to identify client needs and business opportunities, driving the development of innovative solutions and enhanced product capabilities to grow the franchise.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What well need from you
- Relevant work experience in Securities Services with a good knowledge of the international Investor and Intermediaries client segment
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels in German and English
- Strong communication skills at all levels (internally and externally with clients, peers and seniors)
- Broad knowledge of the Swiss and Austrian Securities Market (with particular focus on the CSD & CCP offerings, local regulators and any laws and regulations affecting DCC services)
- Strong digital, data, and AI capabilities, with demonstrated experience applying data-driven insights, analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI/ML concepts) to enhance client experience, optimize operations, and improve revenue, margin, and scalability
- Ability to collaborate in virtual teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of product development, financial acumen, and investment processes across asset classes
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
