Were seeking an Associate to join our Australian Corporate Banking team in Sydney. This role offers an opportunity to support Top Tier Local Corporate (TTLC) clients, make informed lending decisions to support business development, and contribute to the overall success of Citis Banking franchise.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a banking setting, with working knowledge of corporate finance, and understanding of client needs across a range of banking products and services.

The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of Citis organizational structure, support existing client needs, coordinate delivery of Citis extensive product suite, and ensure exceptional client relationship management, while adhering to all credit, regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

  • Support Senior Bankers on a portfolio of key corporate clients

  • Monitor key market, industry and economics trends and how it influences clients strategic objectives and financial needs

  • Build and develop client relationships with key stakeholders to support long-term growth of the franchise

Business Development

  • Support pitching activities to deliver cross-sell across Banking, Markets, and Services

  • Collaborate with product partners and global teams to deliver integrated solutions to our clients

  • Achieve financial objectives by leveraging Citis full spectrum of products and services

Credit Risk Management

  • Work in partnership with Institutional Credit Management & Underwriting to ensure credit requirements are met

  • Act as an escalation point for clients and liaising with internal teams where required to ensure Operations and Product are taking the appropriate steps and responsibility to resolve items raised by the clients.

  • Ensure continuous adherence to credit, risk and regulatory requirements for Citi's lending activities

Network Management

  • Coordinate with Products teams to ensure appropriate credit limits are in place to support client activities

  • Support the co-ordination and execution of day - to - day credit requests from Citi's Global Network Bankers all around the world

  • Act as an escalation point for clients and liaising with internal teams where required to ensure Operations and Product are taking the appropriate steps and responsibility to resolve items raised by the clients.  Escalate internally when required.

Skills and Experiences Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, capital markets, advisory or a related financial services role, with a focus on large corporate clients

  • Foundational knowledge of corporate finance principles, capital markets, and transaction banking products

  • Strong credit analysis skills and a solid understanding of risk management

  • Track record of supporting the execution of financial transactions, especially lending and capital markets

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to develop client relationships at a junior level

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with independence and across a diverse team

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
