Based in Singapore, this role reports to the Singapore Business Execution Lead. This position is a key part of the team responsible for advancing strategic and business-critical initiatives, enhancing governance frameworks, and fostering a robust risk and control environment.
The role supports the Business Execution Lead in a variety of critical functions, including the coordination of audits, business continuity planning, and addressing regulatory matters. It also involves managing activities such as tracking the overall franchise performance, business financials, expenses and pan-franchise initiatives.
The role is exciting and can be ad-hoc in nature, demonstratable skillsets in agility, prioritization and navigation of ambiguity will be highly favored.
Key responsibilities include the following:
General
- Support the partnership with Singapore CCOBH in driving pan-franchise priorities, translating strategic objectives into clear actions and outcomes
- Synthesize complex business and management information into concise insights and recommendations to support senior management decision making
- Foster strong ties and co-ordinate across businesses and functions to facilitate asks of the Singapore management team to both internal and external stakeholders
- Flexibility and ability to partner with representatives across the cluster on various initiatives, workstreams and / or escalations
- Contribute to detailed expense plans and budget utilization, ensuring prudence and maximization of utility
- Appropriate and independent assessment of risks when business decisions are made, enhancing risk oversight in consideration of the firms reputation, clients and assets
- Clear and concise executive communication will be required across all lines of responsibilities
Risk and Controls / Governance
- Ensure proper execution of key governance forums for the Singapore franchise, ensuring internal governance requirements are met
- Ensure robustness of governance discussions on behalf of Singapore CCOBH, contributing to the resolution of issues and escalating to the cluster level where necessary
- Familiarity with the legal entity structure and various regulatory submissions, engagements and exams that impact the Singapore franchise
- Assist in the tracking of issues and keeping Singapore CCOBH informed of all key issues affecting the franchise
- Promote a culture of risk and control discipline across the Singapore management team, helping to break down silos between businesses and functions
- Support the New Activity process as a delegate for the legal entity reviewer
Financial and Expense Management
- Proactive understanding of Business Financials which enables Singapore CCOBH alignment with Global priorities
- Demonstrate strong business acumen to represent the Singapore franchise fairly to internal and external stakeholders
- Structured planning and tracking of CCOBH budget and expenses, ensuring compliance with expense management guidelines and maximizing budget utility
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in financial services
- Energetic, intellectually curios and the ability to operate in time sensitive environments highly favored
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability of executive-ready narration highly favored
- Structured problem-solving toolkit, with the ability to distil ambiguity, frame complex issues and develop actionable solutions
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the financial services industry, with sound understanding of commercial, regulatory and risk considerations
- Strong institutional knowledge and proven ability to navigate internal processes, governance structures and organizational dynamics
- Proven ability to work across diverse businesses, functions, cultures and seniority levels
Education
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
