Job Overview

The Ops Sup Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to provide operations support services in coordination with the Operations - Core team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of operations support services in alignment with Citi operations support infrastructure and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities: Role responsibilities include but not limited to;
    Ensure timely and accurate completion of complex tasks, data validations of products in support of operations, audit and agency initiatives.
    Supporting management in completion of assignments to meet multiple, aggressive deadlines.
    Ability to analyze and provide input on department procedures and escalates issues wherever required.

    Shift timing - 24*7 shifts including late night (IST) shift start timings 
    Location: Chennai, IN 
    Top 3 Risk if not fulfilled: Delay in Transition/ Inadequate capacity could result in negative SLA metric impact, regulatory risk and increased overtime 
    Workday Posting: External & Internal This req# is raised for Criticality 2 process. The role is for IC and will not have any people reporting. 100% of their time will be spent on Financial Investigation General Ledger activities. Financial Investigation General Ledger process is a critical process as it deals with GL outages to be reconciled and Investigated on a timely manner failing which would lead to Financial Impact. 

    The candidate once selected will be reporting to me (Venkataraman, Sridhar SV40894).
  • Reconciliation and Resolution of General Ledger outages and supervise escalated issues, providing efficient and effective service to Citis clients
  • Recommending new work procedures to help streamline operations
    Comprehensive knowledge of General Ledger Reconciliation / Research / Investigation process across multiple applications
    Conduct training, monitor quality and quantity of team and provide suggestions to improve the efficiency of the team
    Communicate daily with management on productivity, quality, availability, Management Information System (MIS) indicators, as well as providing written and oral communications to supported business areas for approval of correct financial entries and resolution of incorrect entries
  • Facilitate training based on needs of staff within the department and assist with answering staff questions, as needed
  • Analyze operations information and make evaluative judgements to solve problems
    Responsible for identifying and resolving routine problems and operational issues with broader departmental impact within established procedures
  • Support expansive and diverse array of products and services
    Assist with ongoing Lean and process improvement projects
    Resolve complex problems based on best practice/precedence, escalating as needed
  • Serve as a backup for manager, as needed, Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards 
  • Lead the Operations Support department through delegation of tasks and responsibilities for multiple teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations, compensations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations of team members as well as determining staffing needs
  • Monitor teams end results, ensuring quality and efficiency and contributes to resource planning, budget management and formulation of procedures
  • Contribute to development of new techniques, models, and plans within area of expertise
  • Facilitate alignment of the Operations Support infrastructure through focused technologies and processes
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations as they pertain to retail accounts serviced through the evaluation and implementation of appropriate control and testing measures
  • Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of information and in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures in complicated and unique situations
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Ability to manage teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience managing a team
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements, developing test plans, and discrepancy resolution
  • Required Licensing/Registration: Series 7, Series 9, Series 10, and Series 63
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Proven organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


Education:

  • Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience
