Job Overview
1. Position: ICG Credit Risk Senior Officer
2. Responsibilities:
- Execute credit approval authority covering large and complex underwritings, capital commitments, derivatives with multi industry experience; ability to manage large/complex deal flow including cross border transactions.
- Manage a portfolio of existing credit exposures (loans, derivatives, cash management products) to CITIBANK KOREA INCs Corporate and Public Sector clients which operate in the country and across the Citi network in compliance with Citigroups policies, procedures and best practices
- Approve new transactions and periodic credit reviews (annual reviews, quarterly reviews, classified credit reviews) as an Credit Officer. Transactions include structured trade financing (i.e., GARP/CIAR and other discounting structures), derivatives (i.e., commodity hedges), loans (i.e., syndicated, structured, bilateral), ECA financing structures and working capital loans across the client network, leverage and acquisition finance
- Advise and make concise approval recommendations to senior risk managers
- Communicate clearly with Citi coverage and product organizations, particularly with respect to Review and Challenge - transactions not to be approved, modification to structure or additional due diligence/conditions to approval
- Interact directly with FCR/ IA/ External Auditor during their periodic and ad-hoc reviews
- Manage increasing demands of regulatory and management reporting, including ensuring timely input from key stakeholders and monitoring data quality.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
- Co-manage classified credits with SA colleagues. Work with colleagues in other risk chains on risk mitigation at both inception of transactions and on an ongoing basis
3. Competencies and Qualifications
- 12-15 years credit and risk experience
- SCO required (or ACE cleared) or equivalent role in other competing organizations
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
- Experience with capital markets products, structured finance, derivatives and trade financing structures.
- Proven strong analytical and credit analysis skills with good attention to detail and ability to provide big picture decision making
- Ability to handle adversity, to push back on industry and product partners and to help them transform inferior deals into acceptable ones
- Independent problem solving skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to conduct business due diligence and assess a companys strengths and weaknesses and competitive position within its industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations in a succinct manner to senior managers
