Products & Proposition Lead - B2B

Location: Warrington Place, Dublin | 2 days per week in the office

The Role

As B2B Products and Proposition Lead, youll be responsible for providing input and implementing the Energy and Services business strategy. The role includes accountability and responsibility for analysis of markets, sales, profit margins, customer segmentation, competitor strategies, retail market data, wholesale market, regulatory developments, and customer needs; providing input into a B2B strategy that takes all these factors into account and then liaising with all parts of Bord Gis Energy to ensure that such strategy is implemented.

In this role youll identify opportunities for growth and value within the gas, electricity and energy services businesses; will work with other departments within Energy, Marketing & Data, and within Bord Gis Energy to ensure strategic alignment and to oversee delivery of these strategies.

Youll ensure that the Energy and Services strategy maps into the overall strategy and deliverables for the organisation. Youll also oversee communication and socialisation of the strategy across the business to ensure that the product strategy is fully understood, the market needs assessed, the technical solution validated, and the business model and channels are viable.

What youll be doing:

  • Contribute to the development of Bord Gis Energys customer strategy for B2B gas, B2B electricity and B2B energy services
  • Develop customer propositions based on an understanding of customer needs and value
  • Identify new B2B products and develop proposals which identify value pools and opportunities for margin optimisation to create a differentiated position in the market
  • Liaise with all other Bord Gis Energy departments and communicate the B2B business strategy ensuring that activities across the group are aligned and consistent with strategic goals and objectives
  • Develop strategies for acquisition and retention, liaising with Channel Managers, Vendor Managers, Marketing, and Insights to ensure that all acquisition and retention campaigns are fully co-ordinated and implemented
    Manage pricing strategies across product and customer mix ensuring forecasts are delivered
  • Develop commercial models and business cases to support introduction of new products
  • Support commercial decision making in the Services and Solutions segment
  • Liaise with Operations on development and implementation of customer care strategy
  • Define reporting requirements and monitor monthly KPIs to ensure products are being fully tracked & optimised across all channels
  • Lead on transition to customer digital journey through RPA, digital E2E, Online self-serve for customers. 
  • Identify optimisations for existing products and retire products no longer required or performing
  • Own product specification documents for all existing and new products
     

What we're looking for:

  • Experience within a product management role, ideally within the energy or utilities industry, but other backgrounds will also be considered
  • Experience with B2B and GTM strategies
  • Understanding of the interaction between product and services and all operational parts of the business
  • Demonstrated ability to launch and manage products within the product lifecycle
  • Commercial acumen which enables identification and focus on key business and product metrics that support new product development and lifecycle management
  • Strong project management, problem solving and analytical thinking skills
