Join a high-profile national infrastructure programme where you'll deliver complex structural engineering solutions across reinforced concrete, steel, and civil infrastructure projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to influence design decisions, ensure technical excellence, and contribute to projects of significant strategic importance.

Your role

  • Coordinate and deliver structural engineering analysis, design, and assessment for reinforced concrete, steel, and civil infrastructure projects within the GBE-N programme.
  • Produce and review structural calculations, models, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Specify and design concrete mixes for reinforced concrete structures.
  • Support the development of design substantiation and technical documentation to meet project, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction, and safety teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
  • Undertake assessments for normal, construction, environmental, and extreme loading conditions, including seismic loading where required.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical assurance activities, and resolution of engineering queries.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and CDM 2015 obligations.

Your profile

  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering and working towards Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and civil engineering structures.
  • Knowledge of relevant UK and international design codes and standards.
  • Experience supporting engineering delivery within infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or other regulated industries is desirable.
  • Understanding of structural behaviour under complex loading conditions, including construction, environmental, and accidental load cases.
  • Familiarity with design substantiation, technical reporting, and engineering assurance processes.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage technical interfaces.
  • Experience with structural analysis software and engineering digital tools.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Knowledge or experience using American codes and standards is desirable but not obligatory. Experience working within the Nuclear Industry and particularly on nuclear new build projects is advantageous. We also welcome applications from individuals considering a sector move, particularly those with transferable experience from other regulated or safety-critical industries.
