Your role
We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Technical Consultant to support and enhance critical utility applications within a managed services environment. This client-facing role requires strong technical and techno-functional expertise across Device Management (DM), Market Process Management (MPM/Market Interaction/IDEX) and Billing, combined with excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capabilities.
You will:
- Provide L2/L3 support for SAP IS-U applications, primarily across Device Management (DM), Market Process Management (MPM/MI/IDEX) and Billing.
- Analyse and resolve incidents, service requests and production issues within agreed service levels.Perform techno-functional analysis, ABAP development, debugging, enhancements and interface support activities.
- Troubleshoot market message processing, device management processes, integrations and data-related issues.
- Support solution design, configuration analysis and defect resolution across SAP IS-U functional areas.
- Conduct root cause analysis and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional consultants and technical teams to deliver high-quality support outcomes.
- Support minor enhancements, testing, deployments and production release activities.
- Follow ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and cross-functional support across the broader SAP IS-U landscape.
Your profile
- Minimum 6 years of SAP IS-U experience, including both implementation and AMS support environments.
- Strong expertise in Device Management (DM), Market Process Management / Market Interaction (MPM/MI/IDEX) and Billing.
- Proven ability to engage directly with business stakeholders, analyse requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Hands-on ABAP development and debugging experience.
- Experience with Interfaces, IDocs, RFCs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, ABAP CDS Views and SAP integration frameworks.
- Understanding of upstream and downstream integrations within the SAP IS-U landscape.Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multi-skilled support team.
- Proven experience in AMS support and client-facing roles.
Desirable:
- Willingness to expand knowledge and provide support across additional SAP IS-U functional areas.
- Knowledge of RAP and Clean Core extensibility concepts.
- Experience in the Australian utilities industry.Certifications in ISU and/or ABAP.
