Job Title: Business Analyst

About the Job you are considering:

A Business Analyst in Payments Capital Markets acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, supporting payment and settlement processes associated with securities trading. The role focuses on ensuring accurate, efficient, and controlled cash movement across the trade lifecycle.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Gather and document business requirements from Trading, Operations, and Treasury teams.
  • Analyze requirements related to:
  • Trade settlements (DvP, PvP)
  • Margin payments (Initial Margin, Variation Margin)
  • Corporate actions (Dividends, Coupons)

2. Process Analysis & Mapping

  • Map end-to-end trade and payment workflows:
  • Trade → Clearing → Settlement → Cash Movement
  • Create As-Is and To-Be process flows.
  • Document RTGS and net settlement payment processes.

3. Functional Documentation

  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, and User Stories.
  • Define:
  • Payment workflows
  • SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messaging requirements
  • Settlement instructions
  • Netting rules and logic

4. System Analysis

  • Work with:
  • Payment platforms and SWIFT gateways
  • Clearing and settlement systems
  • Custody/CSD platforms
  • Define data mappings between trade events and payment instructions.

5. Testing & Validation

  • Support SIT and UAT activities.
  • Validate:
  • Payment accuracy
  • Settlement completeness
  • Reconciliation results
  • Assist in defect management and resolution.
  • Stakeholder Management
