Job Description

We're looking for an Upstream Process Engineer to support the startup and operational readiness of a new manufacturing environment focused on advanced biotechnologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale industrial project, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, validation, and quality teams.

Your missions

As the Upstream Process SME, you will support key activities across equipment readiness, process documentation, and manufacturing preparation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting equipment qualification and commissioning activities from a process perspective.
  • Acting as the technical point of contact for upstream manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with engineering, validation, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Writing and reviewing process documentation, SOPs, risk assessments, and GMP-related procedures.
  • Ensuring documentation is practical, clear, and aligned with manufacturing needs.
  • Contributing to operational and GMP readiness activities.
  • Supporting engineering runs and manufacturing campaign preparation.
  • Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition into routine operations.

Your profile

What we are looking for :
  • Experience in Upstream Processing, Bioprocess Engineering, or Biomanufacturing.
  • Engineering degree or scientific Master's degree.
  • Good understanding of cell culture processes and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience drafting procedures or process documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and departments.
  • Fluent French and English.
