Job Description:

Role Summary

The Technical Engineer provides industrial application expertise and valueselling support to Sales, delivering fieldbased technical service, developing strong value propositions, and helping protect and grow business across key market segments.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Demonstrate strong Safety Leadership and maintain HSSE excellence.
  • Conduct all work ethically and in alignment with bp values and code of conduct.

Technical Support & Field Service

  • Serve as the industrial applications expert for internal teams and customers.
  • Solve process and product application issues using structured problemsolving.
  • Analyse Used Oil Analysis reports and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct field testing of new and reformulated Castrol Industrial products.

Sales Enablement & Customer Value

  • Support Sales in acquiring new business through technical insights and valueselling.
  • Develop and document value propositions for customer opportunities.
  • Help retain existing business by addressing competitive threats with datadriven solutions.
  • Create case studies and share best practices demonstrating customer value.

Training, Coaching & Knowledge Sharing

  • Deliver highquality technical training to internal and external partners.
  • Mentor lessexperienced salespeople and engineers to build organizational capability.

Product Development & Market Insights

  • Collaborate with Technology, Marketing, and Global Product Managers to support new product development and provide field performance feedback.
  • Identify local market needs and communicate product requirements.

Strategic Projects

  • Participate in or lead projects that support the Industrial strategy and broader business objectives.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Lubrication, Manufacturing, or related field).

Experience & Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and engineering/sales software.
  • Expertise in metalworking fluids and highperformance lubricants.
  • Strong communication and valueselling capabilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainability topics (energy savings, water reuse, netzero) preferred.
  • Skilled in structured problemsolving.
  • Strong capability in product and service knowledge, customer value demonstration, project management, and customer training.
