Job Description:

What you will deliver

  • Design and build backend services and platform components (Go, gRPC) that are scalable, secure and resilient across multiple AWS regions
  • Partner with mobile (iOS/Android), product, security and vendor teams to deliver end-to-end customer features
  • Own delivery end to end design documents, code, tests, deployment pipelines and production operations
  • Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality, reviews, testing, observability and secure coding
  • Lead technical decisions across markets and guide the team through complex third-party integrations (payments, loyalty, identity, content)
  • Drive reliability, performance and cost efficiency of the platform
  • Mentor engineers and help grow the team's capability

What you will need

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.

Must have:

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience with recent, hands-on backend development
  • Strong Go (or deep experience in a comparable language with willingness to work in Go), plus gRPC/Protocol Buffers and API design
  • Solid AWS experience ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, load balancing, and infrastructure as code (CDK or Terraform)
  • Proven track record designing and operating distributed, multi-region systems in production
  • Excellent communication; comfortable working across teams, time zones and vendors

Should have: 

  • Experience building or working closely with consumer mobile apps (iOS/Android)
  • Experience with observability metrics, logs and traces (Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar)

Good to have:

  • CI/CD with Azure DevOps; TypeScript for infrastructure code
  • Consumer mobile app backend experience at scale
  • Hands-on experience applying AI in engineering AI-assisted development tools or building AI-enabled feature
