Job Summary
We are seeking a highly versatile Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer to support a critical Trade Compliance transaction monitoring platform within the ST&S organisation. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role spanning business analysis, test leadership, and platform/infrastructure support. The successful candidate will take ownership across the full delivery lifecycle translating regulatory and surveillance requirements into system changes, validating complex data integrations and alerting behaviour, and ensuring the ongoing stability and integrity of a data-driven monitoring platform operating in a real-time or near real-time environment.
Job Responsibilities
Act as the primary link between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating regulatory and monitoring requirements into implementable system changes
Analyse and define surveillance scenarios, alert logic, and data mappings to ensure correct platform behaviour
Validate and monitor inbound data feeds, ensuring completeness, timeliness, and structural integrity across multiple upstream systems
Lead end-to-end testing activities, including functional, integration, and regression testing for platform changes and upgrades
Own user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders, ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and aligned to regulatory expectations
Investigate and resolve production issues, including data gaps, delayed processing, and unexpected system behaviour
Monitor platform health across data ingestion, processing, and alerting components, proactively identifying risks and failures
Support onboarding of new data sources, exchanges, or business entities into the platform
Configure and maintain platform components such as rules, alerts, workflows, and user access models
Work closely with infrastructure and vendor teams to maintain stability across cloud-hosted environments and integrations
Drive continuous improvement across data quality, alert accuracy, and operational monitoring capabilities
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, particularly during incidents and regulatory deliverables
Essential Experience
4+ years experience in IT industry with broad experience designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions.
3+ years experience working on applications in the energy trading domain.
Experience delivering order book and transaction monitoring applications, with a deep understanding of the underlying algorithms used to identify potential market manipulation.
Experience deploying and operating large, complex systems in the AWS cloud.
Delivery experience using Agile/Scrum and associated tools.
Experience working with geographically remote business partners and teams.
Strong communication skills and ability to talk at different levels across the organization.
Ability to engage and influence and able to decompose technical considerations that everyone can understand is key.
Continuous learning and improvement mindset (for themselves and others) and be able to work autonomously.
Demonstrable Knowledge in the application of modern Service Delivery methods - Site Reliability Engineering to traditional ITIL, and understanding of Product Based delivery.
Strong Communications skills and a high EQ with the ability to operate across complex business environments and stakeholders up to senior executive level.
Broad understanding of regional market abuse regulations such as MAR and REMIT.
