Job Description
As a Crude Commercial Analyst at BP Singapore Pte Ltd, you will support trading & origination activities across the Crude desk, contributing to efficient operations, strong governance, and effective commercial execution. The roles core responsibility includes delivering daily exposure to the trading bench, ensuring accurate representation in our reporting systems. The role will work closely with traders, originators and internal partners to deliver insights, support decision making, and help improve the way the team operates.

What You Will Deliver

  • Validation of exposure and daily pricing in line with book strategy and ensuring books are appropriately hedged (flat price, FX and MOCs) and deal valuation throughout
  • Monitor market sentiment, price movements, and emerging trends to provide timely insights that support commercial and strategic decisions.
  • Contribute ideas and practical solutions that enhance processes, controls, and ways of working across the Crude trading support function.
  • Support compliance with trade field, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements to help manage operational and reputational risk.
  • Develop and apply a strong understanding of trading fundamentals and commercial drivers relevant to GCrude trading and origination portfolio.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and wellstructured reports, summaries, and communications for internal partners.
  • Coordinating business development opportunities in the region and conducting analytical work of live origination projects

What You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Experience in commodity trading, in a role where commercially astute, strong analytical and numeracy skills are required
  • Exposure to commercial agreements and negotiations, with experience supporting successful outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand and interpret market data, deal structures, and trading dynamics.
  • Experience supporting commercial or business development activities, such as deal analysis, modelling, or valuation.
  • Strong written communication skills, with attention to clarity, structure, and accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and influence across teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload autonomously
  • Eager self-starter, with track record of solving business problems
  • Comfort with analysing and communicating market sentiment and trends in a practical, accessible way.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and contributing ideas that improve efficiency, quality, or performance.
