This is a Castrol requisition and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence ahead of the Castrol divestment later in 2026. From the point of the divestment, you will be employed fully by Castrol and no longer be a bp employee.

ARC Senior Analyst (Castrol)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support end-to-end accounting activities for a Hungarian legal entity in a multinational environment.

This role will work closely with the Chief Accountant and support statutory, tax, and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with Hungarian regulations and group requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day accounting activities for the Hungarian entity

  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing

  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations

  • Support preparation of statutory financial statements

  • Assist during statutory and group audits

  • Support tax processes (VAT, CIT, local taxes) in cooperation with tax advisors

  • Contribute to local statistical (KSH) reporting

  • Ensure accounting records are accurate and complete

  • Work closely with internal teams (controlling, tax, treasury)

  • Support process improvements and standardization initiatives

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Some years of relevant experience (multinational environment is an advantage)

  • Good knowledge of Hungarian accounting rules (HAS)

  • Basic understanding of IFRS

  • Experience in closing activities, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Fluent Hungarian and good English

  • Able to work with deadlines and manage priorities

  • Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
