The Opportunity:
Provide administrative support, Japanese cultural analysis, and Japanese-English interpretation and translation services, including scheduling, travel coordination, access coordination, security verification coordination, and other logistical support requests. Advise on restructuring, reorienting, or recasting objectives, plans, and schedules to meet organizational requirements. Assist with the development and coordination of the Protocol Program in accordance with policies and regulations. As tasked, organize and conduct preparatory sessions that includes a collection of related biographies, draft information papers and talking points, and assemble necessary background information. Review, analyze, and translate letters, invitations, certificates, procedures, briefs, military planning documents, and a variety of other related documents as directed by the client. Conduct Japanese and American cultural analysis and provide guidance and advice to optimize bilateral understanding and communications in English and Japanese. Facilitate U.S.-Japanese bilateral military efforts at the tactical and operational levels of military operations, including the following: social events, community engagements events, key leaders engagements in a variety of civil and military environments and settings to include media and press engagements, table-top discussion and wargames, military planning, and execution of exercises and operations. Attend joint, bilateral, or multinational planning conferences, working groups, and site surveys to provide linguist support to client attendees on the conduct of military operations. These events may occur in austere environments, on ships, and in aircraft, and include occasional evening and weekend work. This position is located in Fussa, Japan.
You Have:
2+ years of experience with military operations and coordination with adjacent components and higher headquarters commands
2+ years of experience with military translation and interpretation support
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of military organization and culture of joint U.S. Forces and partner allies in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Area of Operations
Knowledge of a Department of Defense networks for information gathering, including Non-classified Internet Protocol Router and Secret Internet Protocol Router, and CENTRIX
Knowledge of the Japanese culture and language, including military organization and culture and how U.S. Forces interact and integrate with the Japan Self-Defense Forces
Knowledge of the U.S.-Japan Alliance
Ability to speak and write in the Japanese and English languages, including advising leadership and communicating complex topics to senior military, civilian leaders, and their respective staffs
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
Knowledge of military terms for all branches of service and military organization and culture of the U.S. military, Japanese Self-Defense Force, and Joint Forces in the Indo-Pacific region, in English and Japanese
Bachelor's degree in Japanese Language or Japanese culture preferred
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individuals particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allens total compensation package for employees.
