About Business line/Function: 

In Settlement Securities IT Business Function, GLOSS is a trade processing system that automates the complete life cycle of the trade starting from trade capture to trade enrichment, confirmation, settlement, P&L calculation and accounting of the trade. GLOSS is being used for BNP Paribas Tokyo and BNP Paribas Hong-Kong branches.

Position Purpose: 

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the Gloss Development team. The role focuses on:

  • Analyzing and interpreting requirements provided by product owners and translating them into robust Java solutions.
  • Designing, coding, testing, and delivering highquality components and features independently.
  • Leading technical decisionmaking, conducting code reviews, and ensuring bestpractice implementation.
  • Mentoring junior developers, fostering their growth, and promoting a collaborative, highperformance development culture.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  1. Requirements Interpretation  Work with product owners to understand functional and nonfunctional settlement needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications and user stories.
  2. Design, Development & Unit Testing  Build robust Java components (Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate) that meet the specifications, writing clean, secure, highperformance code and comprehensive unit tests (JUnit, Mockito).
  3. Defect Investigation & Resolution  Independently conduct rootcause analysis of settlement defects and deliver code fixes or process enhancements without needing constant guidance.
  4. Roadmap & Reporting  Keep the GLOSS enhancement roadmap current (scope, milestones, delivery dates) and provide concise sprintlevel status updates to product managers and business owners.
  5. Design Review & Compliance  Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring all solutions comply with settlement industry standards, regulatory mandates, and internal control frameworks.
  6. Integration & Release Support  Coordinate integration testing, troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline issues, and support stable production releases of new GLOSS functionality.
