About Business line/Function:

The AML IT function sits within the BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) CEFStechnology ecosystem and provides endtoend technology platform that enables the banks antimoneylaundering (AML) program. Its core purpose is to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that detect, investigate, and report suspicious activity across the Groups global operations.

The AML IT business line is the technology backbone that transforms raw transaction data into actionable AML intelligence, ensuring that BNP Paribas CIB meets its regulatory obligations while maintaining operational resilience and innovation.

Position Purpose

The role centres on creating nextgeneration AML capabilities and will be instrumental in protecting the BNPP Group from fraud, moneylaundering, and other financial crimes by using advanced technologies and innovative solutions.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to transformation of the CEFS AML platform into a robust, scalable architecture. This position is vital for shaping up the technical vision, strategy, and execution of AML initiatives, thereby strengthening the organizations overall risk management.

While direct AML experience is not mandatory, strong design/development expertise and the ability to quickly master AML concepts are essential. The role will operate within a globally distributed environment.

Direct Responsibilities

        Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment

        Contribute to technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders in financial services

        Develop and execute automated tests to identify issues in critical functionalities and performance metrics proactively

        Work with Business Analysts and Testers during implementation, verification and solving production support issues

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

        Strong programming experience in Java, Spring-Spring Boot, JUnit, Gradle/Maven

        Strong understanding of multi-threading, exception handling, reactive programming, JPA, caching mechanisms

        Strong knowledge in RDBMS / SQL with Oracle/SQL server/PostgreSQL/MySQL with understanding of advanced queries, stored procedures, partitioning

        Familiar with testing tools & frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, Gatling

        Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture, software design and enterprise integration patterns

        Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm

        Troubleshooting & performance tuning using any profiling tools e.g. Dynatrace, JProfiler

        Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies and solution delivery lifecycle

        Experience with Ansible or bash scripting

        Experienced on building CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Infrastructure As Code (IaC)

        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Nice to have Skills:

        Knowledge/experience with developing frontend for systems using React, Angular, HTML/CSS/JavaScript

        Knowledge/experience of databases POSTGRE etc.
