Join us as a Strategy and Transformation Lead, to support the Technology Transformation Office within Investment Banking Technology, improving how the organisation is structured, how work is delivered, and how resources are aligned to business priorities. This role focuses on strengthening organisational efficiency, operating models, and long-term people strategy across IB Technology.

This role will involve being responsible for key areas of work that shape and deliver organisation-wide change, turning high-level goals into clear, practical plans and ensuring delivery through to completion. You will play an important role in helping Barclays operate more effectively, respond more quickly to change, and align resources to business needs. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and help inform choices that influence how the organisation evolves, while continuing to build your experience in delivering large-scale transformation.

To be successful as a Strategy and Transformation Lead, you should have experience with:

  • Supporting the delivery of strategic transformation work, with the ability to take broad or unclear goals and turn them into structured plans, driving progress and ensuring outcomes are achieved.
  • Using a structured approach to problem solving and data review to understand issues, explore different options, and recommend practical actions based on evidence and insights.
  • Working with and influencing senior stakeholders across Technology, COO, and Business teams, building trusted relationships, aligning priorities, and supporting progress across multiple areas of work.

  • Experience in organisation design, including shaping operating models, team structures, and reporting lines to support business goals.
  • Knowledge of people strategy, such as planning future skills, aligning people to priorities, and supporting longer-term organisational needs.

Purpose of the role

To drive the successful implementation and commercial realization of the bank's strategic goals, ensuring alignment with market trends and delivering sustained financial performance.

Accountabilities

  • Understanding and interpretation of the bank's overall strategic objectives and translate them into concrete action plans for specific business units and functions.
  • Development of detailed implementation roadmaps, outlining key initiatives, timelines, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Development and implementation of robust commercial models for new initiatives and ventures, ensuring financial viability and profitability.
  • Identification and analysis of potential risks and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Development and implementation of effective change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new initiatives and processes.

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
