What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Markets Trading - VP in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Facilitate the execution and automation of electronic foreign exchange (eFX) trades in accordance with established trading strategies and risk management policies.

  • Monitor market risk in eFX spot and Non-Deliverable Forward (NDF) trading streams, intervening when necessary to mitigate risks and enhance trading performance.

  • Optimize the franchise by employing data analytics and programming skills.

  • Conduct quantitative analysis and provide market insights to support the sales team in addressing client inquiries and concerns.

  • Collaborate with quant development teams to enhance execution engines, improve algorithm logic, and optimize trading solutions.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold financial market integrity by identifying inaccurate prices and resolving off-market trades.

  • Maintain meticulous records of trades and transactions, working closely with market and post-trade teams for reconciliation.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $150,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $250,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions. 

Accountabilities

  • Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
  • Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.

Vice President Expectations

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
  • If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the departments future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements..
