Join Barclays as a Credit Operations Team Member where you'll be responsible for reviewing credit applications and preparing credit documentation for Relationship Managers, Private Bankers, and solicitors. Conduct "Fit to Lend" checks prior to loan completion, ensuring all lending requirements are met. Manage the preparation and issuance of legal documentation, maintain accurate and compliant records, perform limit and control checks, and support front-office teams to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of credit operations.

To be successful as a Credit Operation Team Member, you should have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English being essential.
  • A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word for document creation and management, along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet and data-related tasks.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with considerable computer literacy, accurate data entry skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience within a corporate environment, with an understanding of professional standards, policies, and procedures.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, or training colleagues would be advantageous, particularly in supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and the ability to contribute positively to change would be highly beneficial.
  • An understanding of legal principles or previous experience working with legal documentation would be desirable.

Purpose of the role

To support PBWM with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Private Bank and Wealth Management initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution with regards to accounts, products and services.
  • Support the management of the banks client relations to clearly identify their needs and provide a service that meets expectations.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Private Bank and Wealth Management processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Private Bank and Wealth Management processes.
  • Development and implementation of Private Bank and Wealth Management procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Private Bank and Wealth Management performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Private Bank and Wealth Management Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Private Bank and Wealth Management efficiency and effectiveness.
