Join our growing Consumer Risk function and make a real impact on how we deliver value to our customers and business. As a Business Analyst, you will support the identification of business requirements and the development of innovative solutions, helping the organisation achieve its strategic goals while ensuring good consumer risk practices are embedded across change.

To be successful as a Consumer Risk Business Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Business Analysis experience specifically within Risk IT functions of a financial institution. Deep understanding of either:

  • Market Risk: VaR (Value at Risk), Stress Testing, FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book), P&L attribution, sensitivities (Greeks), end-of-day risk aggregation, front-office risk limits, and trading book/banking book differentiation.

  • Consumer Risk: IFRS 9 / CECL (Expected Credit Loss), PD/LGD/EAD modelling, credit scoring, origination risk, collections risk, stress testing, portfolio segmentation, and provisioning calculations.

  • Proven experience leading data migration projects from on-premises risk data warehouses (e.g., Oracle Exadata, SQL Server, Teradata) to AWS Cloud (Redshift, AWS S3, Glue). Deep understanding of risk data lineage - from trade/loan origination systems through to risk calculation engines and regulatory reporting. Experience defining data quality rules, reconciliation frameworks, and validation strategies specifically for risk data during cloud cutover

  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Front Office, and Technology - including quants, risk controllers, traders, and IT leads. Expert in translating complex business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements. Strong track record of managing regulatory-driven change with tight deadlines and high-stakes delivery

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Certified or experienced Product Owner or Product Manager within a SAFe environment. Comfortable managing Program Backlogs, writing Features and User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria, leading PI Planning, and coordinating with multiple Agile teams across Risk and Technology.

  • Familiarity with BUK's consumer and SME product suiteincluding Residential Mortgages, Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Overdrafts, and Current Accounts. Understanding product P&L drivers, customer lifecycle (origination servicing arrears write-off), and how each product generates Consumer Risk exposure (PD, LGD, EAD). Knowledge of product hierarchies, customer segmentation, and key data attributes required for IFRS 9 ECL calculations

  • Practical experience using Claude or similar LLMs to accelerate BA deliverables - such as generating SQL/Python scripts for data profiling, summarising regulatory documentation (e.g., PRA/EBA guidelines), auto-generating test scenarios, or drafting user stories from meeting notes
