What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Assistant VP, TDS Senior Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Design architecture for enterprise-grade, distributed, microservices-based, and cloud-native applications.

  • Translate high-level requirements and designs into robust technical artefacts, supporting the Global Treasury business within Risk, Finance, and Treasury to meet strategic goals under regulatory constraints.

  • Engineer solutions using event-driven microservices and enterprise integration pattern-based architectures.

  • Participate in model/design storming sessions, sprint demos, planning meetings, and retrospectives.

  • Define development standards, reusable patterns, and engineering techniques.

  • Manage setup and maintenance of non-production development and test environments; designed and optimized big data solutions.

  • Onboard and mentor new developers; collaborate with the System Team Leader, Product Owner, and Project Manager to shape the project backlog and ensure requirements were well-defined for development.

  • Plan and delegate development iterations and coordinated deployment readiness.

  • Conduct design and code reviews to uphold quality across the development team.

  • Lead evaluations of design and code within the development lifecycle.

  • Review and provide feedback on test plans and scripts to ensure coverage and quality.

  • Review and approve test plans and scripts prepared by the test team.

  • May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]

Minimum Salary: $150,550 per year

Maximum Salary: $175,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organizations technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
