Join us as an APAC Data Lead at Barclays, which is an integral role within the APAC Chief Data Office team responsible for the delivery of data management processes and controls for the IB business and oversight data governance and risk of the region.

  • Strategic Vision and Leadership.
  • Expert understanding of Data Governance and Quality Management, Data Management policies, standards & control requirements.
  • Experience with design and/or implementation of BAU processes and controls in line with standards & control requirements to meet both local regulatory requirement and Group standard policies.
  • Able to work independently and at pace across multiple time zones.
  • Interact and collaborate well with onshore stakeholders across the region and offshore teams.
  • Ability to deliver against tight deadlines and effectively manage workload.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be clear and concise both orally and in writing.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Knowledge that includes Data Architecture, Integration, Data Sourcing & Provisioning, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud computing.
  • Understanding of policies & standards to manage Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting and Records risk.
  • Data Privacy, Protection and Security.

Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
  • Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
  • Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
  • Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.
  • Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
