Join us at Barclays as an Agile Product Owner. We are looking for a highly motivated Agile Product Owner to lead the delivery and evolution of cutting-edge data products and platforms. In this role, you will sit at the heart of our product development lifecycledriving value through effective backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic roadmap ownershipwhile ensuring alignment with business outcomes and regulatory expectations.

Key Skills

  • Proven expertise in Backlog, Roadmap & Stakeholder Management, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively

  • Strong understanding of Risk & Control frameworks, particularly across data and platform domains

  • Hands-on experience with data product and platform delivery, ideally leveraging cloud-native technologies and tools such as Databricks

  • Solid knowledge of technical architecture, including modern cloud platforms and distributed data ecosystems

  • Familiarity with data mesh principles, ensuring domain ownership, scalability, and data-as-a-product thinking

  • Experience with mainstream engineering and data tooling, including platforms such as Databricks and other cloud-native services

Desirable Skills

  • A consumption-focused product mindset, with a strong emphasis on delivering measurable user and business value

  • Experience in reporting & risk management, driving transparency in delivery and governance

  • Background in the banking or financial services domain, with exposure to data product delivery in regulated environments

This role is based in Glasgow

Purpose of the role

To collaborate with product owners and other technical teams involved in the product development process and utilise their knowledge of the banks technologies to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
  • Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
  • Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
  • Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
