Minimum Criteria
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following core skills and experience:
- Practical experience designing, building, supporting, or improving data solutions on the Azure Cloud platform.
- Minimum two years hands-on experience working with Azure Databricks.
- Experience building, maintaining, and optimising Azure Data Factory pipelines, or comparable cloud-based ETL solutions.
- Expert SQL skills for data manipulation, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in developing data solutions using Python skills.
- Strong working knowledge of GitHub, including branching, pull requests, merge strategies, code maintenance, security scanning and version control.
- Experience writing unit tests and integrating automating testing into build and deployment processes.

- A delivery assurance mindset, with the ability to build trust and confidence through clear governance, evidence-based decision-making, and proactive stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of data modelling concepts, including logical and physical models, data lineage, and data quality considerations.
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certification, or equivalent cloud data engineering accreditation.
