Description We are seeking a dedicated Portfolio Analyst to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the Pricing & Underwriting function at AXA Ireland to achieve its financial targets. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you will be doing: Assist in the production, maintenance and development of our reporting to help drive insights across the business. Analysing and interpreting data to identify trends, risks & opportunities. The team well serve a key role in understanding the business mix across several components such as performance, profitability, sales, retention, quotability and more. Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources such as underwriting systems, claims databases, and external data feeds to ensure comprehensive analysis Apply statistical techniques and predictive modelling to assess portfolio performance, identify risk patterns, and optimize pricing strategies. Collaborate with Department Management to continually improve and develop our analysis on key issues and risks across the business Develop scripts and workflows using programming languages such as SAS, Databricks, R, Power BI to automate reporting and analysis tasks Work closely with pricing, underwriting, actuarial and IT teams to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions Provide analytical support for key projects across the business providing insights and data-driven recommendations. Adapt to undertake additional duties and engage in designated projects, including cross-functional initiatives. Continuously improve reporting capabilities by exploring new tools, techniques, and best practices in data analytics and visualization About You Proven experience in an analytical role with a track record of successful delivery. A completed degree in business, IT or related discipline is essential. APA and CIP qualifications are desirable but not essential. Understanding of relevant insurance business classes and related metrics is an advantage Highly analytical and technically proficient professional with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights Ability to work with Analytical tools & complex data sets. Experience using R, SAS, Power BI, Python, SQL or other programming languages/statistical software desirable Eager to develop new reporting solutions that improve understanding of portfolio performance and support underwriting and pricing decisions Self-motivated with a strong sense of drive, enthusiasm, and commitment. Ability to thrive under pressure in a team-oriented environment. Highly effective planning and organizational skills, enabling you to meet objectives consistently. Flexible and adaptable in the face of new challenges. Excellent written and numerical skills are required. Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with well-developed PC skills. Must meet internal criteria as set out in Recruitment & Selection Policy available on intranet.
