Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced and forward-looking AI Platform and Innovation Technology Lead to drive the design, implementation, and adoption of enterprise AI capabilities across our insurance business in Hong Kong. This role will lead the development of scalable AI platforms, accelerate innovation use cases, and ensure that AI solutions are delivered securely, responsibly, and in alignment with business strategy, technology standards, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business, data, architecture, security, risk, and delivery teams to identify high-value AI opportunities and translate them into practical, governed, and production-ready solutions. This is a manager-grade role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery leadership. AI Platform Strategy and Delivery Define and execute the roadmap for the enterprise AI platform, including capabilities such as large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt orchestration, model management, agentic workflows, and AI observability. Partner with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, security, and data teams to establish a scalable, reusable, and secure AI technology stack. Lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of AI technologies, tools, and vendors in line with business needs and enterprise standards. Drive the industrialization of AI capabilities from proof of concept to production, ensuring reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and operational supportability. Establish reusable patterns, accelerators, and platform services to enable faster adoption of AI use cases across business units. Innovation and Use Case Leadership Work with business stakeholders across distribution, operations, claims, underwriting, customer service, risk, and corporate functions to identify and prioritize AI and innovation opportunities. Lead the design and incubation of innovative solutions that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, employee productivity, and decision-making. Translate business problems into solution designs, delivery plans, and measurable value cases. Oversee pilots, experiments, and minimum viable products, with clear success criteria and pathways to scale. Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to inform the companys innovation agenda. Governance, Risk, and Compliance Ensure AI solutions are designed and deployed in accordance with internal governance standards, security policies, model risk controls, and applicable regulatory requirements in Hong Kong. Partner with compliance, legal, risk, and information security teams to implement guardrails for responsible AI usage, including data privacy, access control, human oversight, explainability, auditability, and content safety. Support the creation and maintenance of AI policies, standards, architecture principles, and operational controls. Promote responsible AI practices across the organization and ensure appropriate documentation, approvals, and lifecycle governance are in place. Stakeholder and Delivery Management Manage cross-functional delivery involving internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of AI initiatives. Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders on AI platform capabilities, limitations, risks, and investment priorities. Prepare and present business cases, progress updates, architecture recommendations, and executive-level materials. Manage project timelines, budget inputs, delivery risks, dependencies, and benefit realization for assigned initiatives. Support demand intake, prioritization, and portfolio planning for AI and innovation use cases. Team Leadership and Capability Building Lead, coach, and develop a small team of engineers, analysts, or innovation specialists as applicable. Build internal capability in AI engineering, solution design, governance, and product delivery through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and structured ways of working. Foster a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and disciplined execution. Contribute to the uplift of enterprise capabilities in areas such as prompt engineering, AI solution architecture, model evaluation, and platform operations. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. $$6+$$ years of experience in technology delivery, digital transformation, enterprise platforms, or data and AI-related roles. Proven experience leading end-to-end technology initiatives in complex enterprise environments. Experience designing or implementing AI/ML or generative AI solutions, preferably in a regulated industry such as insurance, banking, or financial services. Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, APIs, cloud platforms, data platforms, and software delivery lifecycle practices. Experience working with business stakeholders to shape use cases, define requirements, and deliver measurable outcomes. Familiarity with AI governance, security, privacy, and risk considerations in enterprise settings. Prior people management or matrix leadership experience preferred. Technical Skills Good understanding of AI platform components such as LLM integration, vector databases, semantic search, orchestration frameworks, model monitoring, and guardrails. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with preference for enterprise AI services. Knowledge of APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and modern application development practices. Familiarity with DevSecOps, MLOps, or platform engineering concepts. Experience with tools and frameworks for experimentation, observability, and model evaluation is an advantage. Working knowledge of data governance, metadata, access control, and enterprise information security principles. Domain Knowledge Understanding of insurance processes and functions such as underwriting, claims, policy administration, distribution, customer servicing, or risk management is highly desirable. Familiarity with the regulatory and governance expectations applicable to financial services organizations in Hong Kong is preferred. Experience handling confidential customer and business data in controlled environments is important. Leadership Competencies Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Experience Experience in insurance or broader financial services organizations. Exposure to enterprise AI platform rollout, knowledge management, digital workplace AI, or agentic automation use cases. Experience with vendor management, procurement evaluation, or proof-of-concept governance. Certifications in cloud, architecture, agile delivery, data, or AI-related disciplines would be an advantage.
