As part of our continued significant growth, we are looking to recruit strong finance lawyers, at all levels, who can support our Housing and Transition Finance Group.

THE TEAM

The team is widely regarded as a market leader in the social housing sector, with consistent recognition from Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ambitious lawyers who are looking to take the next step in their career by joining a well-established and thriving team with a strong reputation for excellence in the sector.

The team works with a diverse range of clients, including housing associations, registered providers, funders, and investors, advising on high-value and complex transactions. These include bond issues, private placements, syndicated and bilateral loans, sustainability-linked financing, and other innovative funding structures tailored to the needs of the sector.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE ROLE

The work which our Housing and Transition Finance Group undertakes ranges from:

o    Advising on the financing of almost every complex social housing finance transaction in the UK (placing us at the heart of solving the UK's housing challenge);

  • renewables
  • clean(er) energy

  • industrial platforms and decarbonisation
  • circular economy assets
  • natural capital
  • sustainable and synthetic fuel sources
  • agri-tech and climate-resilient food systems
  • water security infrastructure
  • flood defence and coastal resilience systems

o    You will have the opportunity to get involved in each of these transactions.
o    In addition to the underlying finance transactions, our Housing and Transition Finance Group also supports many finance clients on their wholesale financing, product development and government / regulatory engagement in relation to policy shifts across these areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To thrive in our team, you need to be entrepreneurial and a self-starter: confident with clients, collaborative across transactions, proactive in driving deals forward and market facing with a hunger to drive your own development and network.

This is a place where we enable ambition and talent to flourish.

You also need to be someone who understands the underlying fundamentals of a transaction.  Familiar with LMA, without being wedded to precedents, and confident (at the senior end) of bespoke drafting and lawyering.
