Job Description:
Shell is seeking experienced and safety-focused Mechanics to support offshore production operations in the Gulf of America. This role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation and maintenance of mechanical systems that support offshore facilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong personal safety leadership, mechanical discipline, and commitment to Shells values, One GoA Mindset, and operating standards.
Whats the role
As a Mechanic Offshore Operations, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Accountabilities:
Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot offshore mechanical systems and equipment
Perform maintenance on rotating and static equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, piping, and pressure vessels
Maintain mechanical safety critical and environmental barriers in alignment with SEMS and the SEAM Framework
Perform equipment isolations, lock out/tag out, and permit to work activities
Identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical equipment failures or abnormal conditions
Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance systems
Support commissioning, testing, and equipment readiness activities as required
Exercise Stop Work authority and actively promote a strong safety culture
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable operations

Candidates must be willing to work at any Shell offshore asset, based on business needs
Work assignments may change over time to support operational and maintenance requirements
Work Schedule
Offshore rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off
Transportation provided by helicopter or boat for crew change
What we need from you
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work visa
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent required
Recent Offshore Upstream Gulf of America (GoA) experience, with current contractor experience supporting Shells Gulf of America operations
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Ability to work in offshore conditions, including climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, and working outdoors
Successful completion of the Shell Operations Aptitude Test (within 5 days of submitting application)
Fulfillment of asset specific mechanical competency and training requirements
Certified NCCER Industrial Millwright or Offshore Maintenance Mechanic
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
Demonstrated capability as an informal leader of safety and culture
Ability to pass pre-employment medical evaluation, drug screen, and background check
Ability to work on elevated platforms and grating
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
This position is safety critical and subject to applicable regulatory requirements

What we offer
The rate for this position is $54.19/hr for Tech 2 pay level.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
