We encourage candidates to apply as soon as possible.

What does the job involve?

Empire Wind Offshore Wind Farm, along with South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, will be one of the worlds largest offshore windfarms and staging ports and will power over 500,000 homes in New York. It is currently under construction with the port already operational and first power expected by the end of 2026. The wind farm is located 15-30 nautical miles south of Long Island, New York. The O&M Base, including the warehouse for spare parts and consumables, and the Control Room will be located on-site at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in New York City. During the operations phase, maintenance of the wind farm will be conducted from the Service Operations Vessel (SOV) and a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV).

The Offshore O&M coordinator reports to the offshore maintenance leader and supports safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance activities across the Empire Wind Farm. Working exclusively on the SOV in 2-week on/2-week off rotations, the coordinator serves as the primary operational support and delegated deputy to the offshore maintenance leader, coordinating daily maintenance planning, execution, workforce readiness, and documentation. The role coordinates day-to-day interfaces with the wind turbine OEM (Vestas) ensuring safe access, adherence to Equinor procedures, and effective delivery of turbine maintenance. It also supports structured offshore planning, accurate reporting, continuous communication with onshore O&M teams, and coordination and maintenance of goods and equipment in the SOV store.

Initially, the offshore O&M coordinator will support the Pre Operation Phase and will be based onshore at our Brooklyn Project Office. As Empire Wind transitions to full operations in late 2026, the position will resume a regular 14-day rotational schedule (2 on/2 off).

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Promote and maintain a strong offshore safety culture by supporting permits, risk assessments, daily work coordination, and participating in emergency response drills and vessel emergency duties.

  • Support the offshore leader in planning, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance for Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), Balance of Plant (BOP), and SOV operations and ensure continuity of offshore operations.

  • Prepare and sequence planned and corrective maintenance while monitoring weather, marine operations, and people and vessel movements to ensure safe offshore execution.

  • Maintain offshore work orders, logs, and documentation, and support major component exchanges, forced outages, and turbine restoration activities.

  • Oversee inventory management and ensure all necessary equipment and resources in SOV store are available, maintained, and properly utilized.

  • Deliver daily offshore operational updates to the offshore leader, prepare operational logs and turbine status reports, and act as a coordination hub between Equinor teams, Vestas, SOV crew, and onshore operations to ensure efficient and consistent information flow.

Hourly Salary range: $22 - $86
