Overview of Role/Principle Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for controlling end-to-end fund operations in Japan by overseeing the outsourced service provider. These are the key roles
Ensure day-to-day management for the fund administration of Japan.
Support operational readiness for new fund launches, fund closures, drives process improvement initiatives, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support seamless client servicing and uphold service quality and control standards.
Ensure timely and accurate NAV dissemination and prompt resolution of issues with the outsourced service provider and Trust Banks.
Work together on Fund Documentation area, at least for regular renewal of legal documents.
Key Responsibilities:
Completion and accuracy of the calculation of daily net assets and price of Toshin-fund.
Authorization of daily NAV provided by the outsourced service provider.
Chase the investment team to take action to avoid overdrafts based on the cash balance of funds.
Completeness of Toshin-fund regulatory reports prepared by the outsourced service provider.
Ensure the proper conduct of Toshin-fund audits working with the outsourced service provider.
Ensure operational setup in relation to fund operations for new fund launches, fund closures and the addition or removal of distributor.
Refinement of existing procedures/practices/processes.
Judgement of security price adoption for the query from the outsourced service provider.
Administration of the fund dividend based on the firms rule.
Overall control for fund audit, QI/FATCA, fund holiday calendar and lead the pricing committee.
Skills and Behaviours Required:
Require more than 3 years working experience specialized in this role within the field of fund operations (fund accounting, subscriptions/redemptions, regulatory reports, etc.) in Asset Management company, Trust Banks or the outsourced service provider.
Experiences to solve the NAV error and/or extraordinary matters.
Must possess good interpersonal skills and/or written skills in a clear and concise manner.
Provide advice and guidance to the outsourced service provider.
Native Japanese skills are essential; Preferrable for English skill for reading and writing.
Preferrable for understanding of calculation mechanism of the performance and attribution analysis required for institutional client reporting.
Local fund accounting knowledge.
